I decided to install a solar electric system for three reasons -- 1) my electricity bill has continued to increase with not end in sight, 2) my belief of the potential passage of Cap and Trade and it's impact on energy costs, and 3) the significant tax credits that came with TARP and the CA Rebates to off-set the cost of the system. With my electricity usage, the net pay back of the system is about 7 years not considering the potential impacts of Cap and Trade.
I looked at two companies, one of which was Sun Pacific Solar. The other company gave me a basic understanding of what was available, a good system and a good price. However, I was very much more impressed with Sun Pacific. I met with Tom, who was very knowledgeable, knew their product, made a very comprehensive site survey and provided a very competitive price. Then I met with the other partner Jay, who would be responsible for the installation. His team has worked together for many years. It was not a "pickup team" and they knew each other very well. They clearly took great pride in the quality of their work.
It was a delight to work with the Sun Pacific Solar team. From all the paperwork involved, straight forward contracts, follow-thru and first rate, quality installation with no short cuts. Sun Pacific is very easy to work with. They showed up as promised, completed the job as promised, and fulfilled every promise they made.

They are professionals. I would go to them again and highly recommend them to you.

SunPacific completed our 3 KW, 14 panel installation in August, 2009. Their team of professionals handled all aspects of assessment, design, permitting and installation smoothly and competently. Our installation is west facing due to shade on the south side of our roof. SunPacific's concern to do a realistic assessment and their experience in the roofing and electrical trades were valuable and appreciated.
The team was very consistent, friendly and impeccably clean. We have been excitedly monitoring our power generation in KW-Hours, pounds of CO2, number of mature trees planted and number of miles not driven.
It feels so good to know we are using the sun's energy directly in our home.

Since your installation of my solar panels/inverter (two weeks ago) I have saved 333.71 pounds of CO2! It's very heartwarming. Just wanted you (and any potential customers) to know how glad I am to be participating in the use of solar energy - obviously the cleanest form of energy available, and the most ideal for a sunny climate (if not all climates), bar none.
Even though my electric bills were not that high, I can't imagine a more meaningful way to spend my money (and personal energy) than on solar power. It makes me feel good to know that I am giving back to the grid, and that a little bit less CO2 will be discharged, thanks to me. It's very entertaining to watch the electric meter running backward, and I can hardly wait for my next electric bill - what tiny dollar amount, if any, will it be?
Finally, it was a pleasure to work with all of you. You made the process understandable. You were thoughtful and clear in explaining what options might be appropriate for my site and historical use.
You communicated regularly and well. You made the paperwork easy.
And you did an outstanding job of the actual installation, working efficiently and expertly. You are enthused about the quality of SunPower products, and explained why.
And you guys are a barrel of fun*. I'm wondering if part of the reason that you have so much fun is because you also feel good about doing work that is so healthy for the planet? How can you not enjoy your job?

We are very pleased with the installation of our solar panels by SunPacific Solar which was just completed in April 2009. Their sales presentation by Tom Burt was complete and honest.
